First Martyrdom Anniversary
A child’s smile can light up a thousand hearts. And in pursuit of that smile, SHAHEED SQN LDR SHISHIR TEWARI MEMORIAL CHARITABLE TRUST has taken the initiative to adopt about 100 kids of the Yamuna Khadar slum area situated near Mayur Vihar Phase I, Delhi.
The trust will work towards assisting these kids by providing overall development and education opportunities. Apart from the routine studies, regular workshops on basic life skills like sanitation and hygiene, health through Yoga, discipline etc. will also be held as part of this initiative.
As a first step, an initial interaction was done with the kids on 21st September, 2018. This was followed by a bhandara for the 300+ residents of the slum on the first martyrdom anniversary of Late Sqn Ldr Shishir Tewari, on 6th October 2018. A few glimpses of the event and our interaction with the delightful and talented kids can be seen in the pictures.
